Instead of treating illness to force ourselves into self-care, let’s make a habit of taking small steps like 1) Getting some exercise. … 2) Getting outside and breathing some fresh air. … 3) Take some time for yourself — and don’t be afraid to say no. … 4) Know that It’s okay to ask for help. … 5) Practice mindfulness; be it 1 minute of breathing, tuning into our bodies, or sitting in the car for a few extra minutes before going into the office or store. Simple little things that we can all do to create minutes of self-care time for ourselves. Those few minutes spent on self-care reward you in innumerable ways! Give it a try and see for yourself.
